The Experience Of Coffee Shops

What a great day we live in that we are able to experience “The Coffee Shop.” Who would have thought fifty years ago that coffee shops would be what they are today. In the 1950’s a coffee shop had a whole different meaning. It was more like a morning diner that sometimes served break fast and lunch. It was a place where truckers and farmers would come for the “Big Breakfast” and get a cup of coffee. These type of food establishments were called coffee shops because people really did drink coffee there, and lots of it. The 1950s diner did not serve the type of coffee drinks that are now served in today’s local coffee house. As no one had ever heard of a latte or cappuccino during the good ol’ days.

Today coffee shops are a whole new genre. Just visit the many coffee houses in your area and see how each one has a different feeling or experience. One shop may have retro furniture and decorations, another may be a bohemian style with mixed and unmatched furniture with rugs hanging on the wall.coffeeshop1 Most coffee houses have local art on display, as this has become an excellent way for local artists to become known throughout their town. At some establishments you are even able to enjoy music as a local band plays. No matter your style is, there is a coffee house near you where you are able to hang out and have your own coffee experience.

Coffee shops now offer a variety of drinks that were unavailable just less than ten years ago. New drinks are being crafted every day. There are blended coffee and tea drinks. Flavored syrups are available, and can be added to your drink to give it a sweeter and unique taste. Most cafes carry of variety of different teas that are imported from all around the world. Of course we cannot forget the espresso drinks. The espresso is my favorite cup of choice and I tend to seek out shops that roast their own. Espresso is the drink that will be in my memory forever. This is where my “coffee shop experience” began and I will never forget it. There is just something about a latte or a cappuccino that no other food or drink can match its texture, or taste. When you have had a really great espresso drink you will know the difference. This really is the experience that many are searching for. I have found that beyond the decorations, the location and the interesting looking staff, what I really want to experience in a coffee shop is exceptional coffee. Some may be there for the atmosphere, which is a very important part of the experience for many. Others may be there because it is convenient for them. Then there are those individuals out there that are looking for the perfect cup. Watching the barista prepare the drink is absolutely fascinating. This is not only just a job for many but it is an art. I am always amazed when my drink is handed over the counter by the barista a.k.a. artist, and his or her latte art work is displayed in my perfectly poured latte. Now that is what I consider a “coffee shop experience.”
